Available in Teak, Satin, and Gloss finishes. Teak is suited for teak and other dark hardwoods. Gloss may be applied over Teak and Satin, but can also be used as a base coat.

- Use TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 for thinning.
- Ensure surface is clean, dry, and free of dust, oil and grease prior to varnishing.
- Sanding is not necessary between coats - if applied within 72 hours of each other.
- TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish can be thinned 5-10% with TotalBoat Special Brushing Thinner 100 to increase penetration and seal the wood.
- For best results, apply a minimum of two coats over the seal coat.
- Additional coats may be applied for further depth and appearance.

I bought this as an alterative to varnish for a cedar strip canoe I was redoing. The finish never completely dried and remained tacky for days. I eventually had to sand it off because after a week it was still tacky. I thought it was the humidity so I brought the project from the garage to the house. I tried again on the paddle and I had the same problem. Next time Ill stick to varnish.

This is our second purchase of the TotalBoat Marine Wood Finish as we've had success with it on the brightwork of our backyard built 20' LOA, 8' Beam, Ply on Frame Pacific Northwest Dory. We started using it when we first mounted the White Oak Rubrails when the hull was on the strongback. We also used it on our White Oak Sole and the AshToerail. White Oak is a bear to finish and keep clean, but this material, after a year, has held up to the harsh Sun and Environment of the Sun Coast of Florida. We highly recommend it!

Great product but the first coat needs to be thinned to get a smooth finish on new teak. I used Naptha but the can recommends a Total Boat product. 3 coats and I think the new teak will last a long time.
