Product Details

For the deepest, clearest, single-layer epoxy pours for river tables, live edge slabs, and large molding and casting applications, choose TotalBoat ThickSet Fathom. This deep pour epoxy resin system features a simple 2:1 mix ratio by volume, and long 2-4 hour working time that make it easy to use, especially for large or complex pours that involve tinting and encapsulations. The extremely slow cure time lets you pour deeper layers, and deeper layers mean fewer pours. Pour single layers of resin up to 3 inches deep for large casting applications, and up to 2 inches deep for slab pours and river tables.

ThickSet Fathom is easy to tint with epoxy-safe coloring agents, including mica powder, pigment paste dispersions, liquid epoxy pigments, alcohol inks and universal tints. Once cured, it can be sanded and turned on a lathe. Cured surface is BPA-free, making it safer for surfaces coming into contact with food.

Available in 1.5 Gallon, 3 Gallon, and 6 Gallon Kits.

PLEASE NOTE: ThickSet Fathom is an advanced deep pour epoxy system. It is not compatible with TotalBoat 2:1 epoxy pumps.

Info & Guides

ThickSet Fathom Lets You Pour Deeper Single Layers Than Ever!

Just how deep can pour ThickSet Fathom? When we say deep, we mean deep! Pour single layers of resin up to 3 inches deep for large casting applications, and up to 2 inches deep for slab pours and river tables. That's up to three times deeper than traditional epoxy systems. Because of the depth, ThickSet Fathom takes longer to cure, but it'll be worth the wait because the layers will be seamless, and the finish will be extremely smooth, water-clear, durable and waterproof.

What's the difference between TotalBoat ThickSet and ThickSet Fathom epoxies?

ThickSet and ThickSet Fathom are both crystal clear epoxy kits that allow you to pour deeper single layers than traditional epoxy systems, and both systems require strict attention to application and curing conditions, but that's where the similarities end. To help you you understand the advantages of each epoxy system and decide which ThickSet formula is right for your project, please refer to the table on the Tech Specs tab.

Important Notes on Pouring Additional Layers of ThickSet Fathom

  • When pouring multiple layers, it is very important to wait until the previous layer has cooled sufficiently, to prevent yellowing, surface distortion, or other negative consequences of excess heat.
  • The safest interval is to wait a minimum of 36 hours for ThickSet Fathom to cure prior to applying more, regardless of pour depth and ambient temperature.
  • When the shortest interval for multiple pours is important, wait at least 24 hours, and use an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature at the center of the epoxy mass.
  • Wait until the previous pour has dropped below 85°F, and the previous epoxy pour has firmed up enough that it will not distort when liquid epoxy is poured on it.
  • Always follow the maximum pour depth based upon the volume of ThickSet Fathom.
